Second Year

So I am back at University for my second year and I still can't believe I'm actually at University at all! It makes me feel so old and yet I don't feel old enough, either. The blog entries should become more regular again as I will have lots of writing task and assignments to post. Just so you know the modules I am studying this semester are: Media Writing, The Short Story, The Short Screenplay, and Textual Intervention.

Well, lets get cracking on some blog entries then!

Delirium

This is a short story I wrote in my Creative Voice module. The only rule for writing this short story was that it had to be inspired by a piece of artwork or a piece of music. My piece was inspired by a painting I saw in my Creativity II class; it was of a man sat on a wooden chair in an empty room, staring out of the window.

Hope you enjoy reading!

Edit 17.05.2013: This post has temporarily been removed as I have entered it into The Fiction Desk's Ghost Story Competition. Wish me luck!

Story Animations

For my Creativity module we had to create some sort of art piece, it could be absolutely anything we wanted as long as it showed a creative journey and relevant research. At the exhibition there were many different pieces, ranging from paintings, dresses, short films, and mini experiences. For mine I did an animated version of my short story 'Obsession' which I posted on here a while back. However, for the animation I changed the name to 'Beat'.

Here's a link to my animation; it's not the best quality, but you'll get the idea!

And if that doesn't work you'll just have to satify your need with some of these drawings instead:

Writing Competition

Everyone should be happy to know that I won the writing competition within my class. I won with my story Decaying Art, which was inspired by the painting 'A Painter's Lunch'. This is the first of hopefully many writing competitions that I shall win!
